Transcripts and Multi-Track Audio Editing in Premiere

Image
1. Transcribe your audio inserting the timecode in a way that's helpful to you.  For short pieces, you may want to put it in every minute.  For longer interviews where you think you'll use the whole answer, you may only need to put the timecode at the beginning of the subjects answers and at the end.  Take note of any ambient noises that may affect the your recording.  When you're finished recording, copy and paste the text into a new document. If you have several files, upload and transcribe them one at a time, always starting your timecode at 0:00 2. Highlight the sections you want to use, make note of possible beginnings, endings, climaxes, and resolutions. 3. Sequence the parts of the interview you want to use in the order you want to edit them in Premiere. 1,2,3,4,5, etc etc 4. Start a new project in Premiere: 5. Import your audio files (Command-I while in Bottom Left Wind...

Take notes of anything that feels visceral and has universal appeal. These are the good bits. Highlight the beginning, middle and end. Transcript is due Wednesday before midnight.
